Hsin-Ju Yu

Hsin-Ju Yu is an active performer as a violin soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral musician. She has won many awards and scholarships in national and international competitions, including the first prize award for the Golden Classical Music Awards international competition in New York, the first prize award for the American Protégé International Competition in New York, and the first prize award for the Grand Prize Virtuoso International Music Competition in Rome, Italy.

Yu has performed across the US, including her solo debut at Carnegie Hall and a national tour with the International Chamber Soloists led by violinist Dmitri Berlinsky. Her international appearances include a collaboration with the National Taipei University of Education Symphony Orchestra as a guest soloist, and she also performed string octet chamber concerts in Brisbane, Australia. Additionally, she has performed in famous concert halls across Taiwan, Japan, Hong Kong, Australia and Italy. With her various solo and chamber music projects, Yu has been featured at such prestigious music festivals as the International Academy of Music in Italy, the Texas Music Festival, the Ameropa Music Festival in the Czech Republic, Summit Music Festival in New York, and the Cello Plus Chamber Music Festival in East Lansing, Michigan. As an educator, Yu participates in outreach concerts at various schools to introduce and promote classical music to the next generation. She has experience with students of all ages, teaching private and group technique lessons and coaching chamber ensembles.

Yu graduated from National Taipei University of Education with a Bachelor of Music degree in Violin Performance, earned a Master of Music degree in Violin Performance from National Taiwan Normal University, and completed her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Violin Performance from Michigan State University, studying with Professor Dmitri Berlinsky. She is currently a contract member of several Michigan ensembles, including Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra, Lansing Symphony Orchestra, and Traverse City Philharmonic since 2022.
