Genevieve Beaulieu lives in Chicago and is the second bassoonist with Traverse City Philharmonic. In addition to playing with the TC Phil, she teaches privately in Oak Park, IL and works at Northwestern University's Bienen School of Music. Previously, Genevieve was principal bassoon of Midland Symphony Orchestra, second bassoon of Holland Symphony Orchestra, and performed frequently with the Grand Rapids, West Michigan, Southwest Michigan, and Kalamazoo symphonies. In 2019, she was soloist with the Holland Symphony Orchestra, performing Weber’s Andante and Hungarian Rondo.
Genevieve attended Ohio State University for her undergraduate degree, where she studied with Karrie Pierson, and graduated from Michigan State University with both her Master’s of Music and Doctorate of Musical Arts, where she studied with Michael Kroth. In her free time from work and reed-making, Genevieve enjoys spending time with her husband, two young children, and two adorable dogs.
